No Time for Caution

hey.  it’s been a little while, hasn’t it?  do you have some time to chat?

At times, no matter what I put down on this page… nothing that shows up feels like the right thing to say. So I wait, sometimes too long, for just the right words. 

But sometimes life is too short for caution.  Sometimes we’re called to act in ways the rest of the world may deem reckless.  

Lately, a lot of us have been sitting quietly in the corner, trying not to stir up too much trouble, afraid to be bold because we don’t want to be silenced.  But our fear of being silenced has silenced us instead.  There’s a whole world out there that’s desperate for hope, desperate for anything besides the overwhelming deceit and discouragement we see every day.  The world is desperate to see something different; the sunshine tearing through the clouds after a thunderstorm, a rose standing beautiful and tall among the ashes and dust–a few teenagers daring to be brave and speak up for Christ even in the face of silent persecution.  

The world is getting more and more hostile to Christianity. Just a small peek behind the curtain shows this in alarming detail.  But I believe that this world is thirsty for change, for revival.  We get to be the ones to light the flame, if we are willing to allow ourselves to be vulnerable to the fire.  

If the world isn’t trying to silence us, we’re not doing our jobs right.  

We may be suppressed.  Suppression will only grow more intense over time.  But we’ve been given our voice and our passion for a purpose.  Maybe you don’t know quite what that is yet, or maybe you’re afraid to take a stand.  But this is no time for caution.  

Throw caution to the wayside and be bold.  Don’t buckle under pressure for what you know is wrong when the heat comes your way.

We will not go gentle into that good night.  We will take a stand here on this mountain, and we will spark the change that this broken, beautiful world yearns to see.  His power is made perfect in our weakness.  trade in your caution for Christ. =).

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
